Currently based in Tokyo, his path has taken him from Portugal and Luxembourg to Berlin—where he studied at Catalyst, the Institute for Creative Arts and Technology—before finally realizing his long-held dream of living and working in Japan’s vibrant artistic landscape.

His first professional steps were taken at the now-defunct UK/Luxembourg-based publication Stay-Tuned Interviews, where he evolved from writer and journalist to Head Reviewer and eventually Creative Director. Along the way, he has been involved in music video and short film productions, festival curation, editorial writing, and other multidisciplinary projects that span both text and image.

At the core of Matt’s practice lies storytelling. Whether through prose, visual art, or conceptual frameworks, narrative is his medium of choice—an instinct honed since childhood and shaped by years of creative experimentation. His move to Tokyo was driven by an unshakable passion for art: a journey five years in the making, fueled by persistence, imagination, and an abiding belief in the power of self-expression.

Outside of work, Matt remains deeply engaged with the Tokyo art scene. He finds inspiration in cinema, urban exploration, and the act of dreaming creatures into real-world spaces—a quiet practice of re-enchantment that defines both his life and his work.
